50 kW Oxyfuel combustion test facility for pulverised coal
The second ADECOS project meeting was held on March 1st-2nd 2006 in Dresden. Besides exchange and discussion of recent project results, planning of the second project phase starting in September 2006 was one of the main topics. After finishing the official part the day closed with a dinner in the Old Town of Dresden.

On the second day, the 50 kW pulverised coal combustion test facility of the Dresden University of Technology was inaugurated and presented to the public. During the past months, the facility which had been operated by TU Dresden for more than 10 years was rebuilt for use under Oxyfuel conditions. That means essentially combustion of pulverized coal in an atmosphere of O2 and CO2 by using oxygen instead of air for combustion and recycling about 75% of the flue gas flow back to the combustion chamber.
